Your Most Daunting Ideas Come at Unexpected Times
If you are here, I would like to thank you for taking 2-mins to read my newsletter. It's a mixture of personal and professional experiences that have shaped me to become who I am.
Hey You💜,
Have you ever sat in the bathroom and suddenly been struck with your Eureka moment! An idea that you gotta put out there?
Or you are traveling in a car/cab and you get a lighting jolt of an idea! Wow, that feeling is so invigorating, right!
It happens with me as well. Ideas strike when you least expect them to but how you build on those ideas is totally up to you.
I usually have my mobile with me all the time (yes even when I am in the bathroom😏)
Some ways I jot down my ideas -
Write the ideas in their rawest format in a self-created WA group.
Put it down in my mobile Notes app.
Or create a direct post on LinkedIn.
How it helps me?
I don’t lose my trail of thought at least 90% of the time.
I have an ideas repository on different apps at all times.
It helps me pick one idea out of the 100 I think of.
But this is too time consuming you will say, right?
Well, the next step is more crucial than the ones above.
I collate all those ideas in a Notion doc (I use it relentlessly)
I have a Sub-folder for all social media content and client content ideas in one place.
There are swipe files that I keep adding to the Notion folders to refine my thoughts.
The ideas in their rawest form now have a structure to follow.
Whether it’s Instagram or LinkedIn or X (or even my newsletter), it serves a pitstop to get one tiny idea to build on something bigger.
And in my pursuit to build my ideas, I also look at hiring people to help me streamline it further. (I can do it today, but it wasn’t an option 3 years ago)
These tiny ideas have led me to hire my first LinkedIn Strategist for one account 2 weeks ago.
It has led me to collaborate with a media production house to lead my YT and Podcast initiatives (for clients as of now 😁)
It has made me become more structured and streamlined.
Now Ideas are everywhere but how you make use of them is up to you.
Some of you are very lazy to act up on them and I hear this more often than I would like to hear.
See, if you want to make something work for you, you gotta put in the work as well.
Don’t make excuses about not having time.
Reality check: It is not time you don’t have. It is the will to not do anything that you have.
Crude, but true.
I wanted to put this out today so that you don’t make the same mistakes of organizing your thoughts that I have made for the longest time.
Even as an experienced writer, you are still struggling with your idea collation (don’t lie.)
Tell me if this method helps you by dropping me a DM or a comment.
Tell me what do you do differently? I would love to learn from you.
Until later…
Cheers,
Yours truly❤️
PS: I officially have my Privacy Policy in place for the newsletter and my website. If you are worried about your personal credentials, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.
I'm good at execution... Unplanned execution. And I end up pursuing 20 different ideas at once. 🥲
Well at least someone is like me in taking the mobile to the bathroom, jokes apart. I usually have a diary and a pen in the kitchen and phone for the bathroom, because most of the thoughts strike when I am in the kitchen with hands either wet or smeared with spices and herbs. So, a good ol' diary takes care of my thoughts in the kitchen.
And with mobile I follow the trick you once told me about to jot everything down in your self group. Amazing tip it was. My notes and my group is filled with random thoughts.
But Notion is still a challenge for me.
Maybe one day. I shall overcome this challenge also. Till then, will wait for Next Friday for another mind-blowing issue of Unapologetically You.
